ArmInfo. The construction of the new administrative complex for the Sevan Water Rescue Squad has been completed. From now on, the Squad will operate in more modern conditions, in accordance with international standards, which will contribute to increased efficiency. This was reported by the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It is noted that in this regard, the opening ceremony of the new administrative complex was held on July 13, attended by Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan and US Charge d'Affaires in Armenia David Allen. The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the US government, the US Embassy in Armenia, and all partners for supporting the construction of the special water unit's new administrative complex, emphasizing that the cooperation established over the years has grown into a constructive partnership and friendship.
"We are investing in new infrastructure, but this is first and foremost an investment in improving the safety of our rescuers and our citizens. No less important is the working conditions and safety conditions in which rescuers live, carry out their work, and conduct rescue operations, as the quality of the work we provide to our citizens largely depends on this," Sargsyan emphasized.
She expressed confidence that the launch of the infrastructure will create new opportunities for the service's development, strengthen the capacity of rescuers, and increase the likelihood of successful completion of each rescue operation.
Allen, in turn, speaking about the cooperation established between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the US government, noted that it is constantly strengthening, including through programs implemented jointly with the Rescue Service. In this context, he emphasized that the new administrative complex will contribute to the creation of safer and more comfortable working conditions for rescuers.
Construction of the administrative complex began in the summer of 2025 and was under the strict supervision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs throughout the entire period to ensure the quality of construction work and adherence to established deadlines. The construction of the water rescue unit in Sevan was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the US European Command, and the US Embassy Military Task Force in Armenia.
