The Russian military court is most likely to handle the case of Russian serviceman Valery Permyakov accused of the murder of a family of 7 in Armenia, a source aware of the situation has told Interfax.
"The Permyakov case will most likely be investigated in the territory of Armenia by Russian judicial authorities", the source says.
Another source of Interfax reports that the judicial proceedings will be conducted in the open regime. "According to Russian laws, the proceeding can be private or open. At the moment, the files of the case have no secret data and this allows the judges to hold open trials", says the source. As regards the statement of Alexander Bastrykin, Head of the Russian Investigation Committee, who said that the trials will be publicly available, the source suggests, "The matter most likely concerns open proceedings with open broadcast. Given the public opinion and the people's sentiments in Armenia, the trials will be transmitted live on big screens outside the court room".
Earlier, Vladimir Markin, official representative of the Russian Investigation Committee, told Interfax that the circumstances of the family murder in Gyumri would be investigated in Armenia.
