The rally of the joint opposition opposing the Constitutional reforms in Armenia has not kicked off yet but there are already detainees among the oppositionists.
As ArmInfo's correspondent informs, police detained oppositionist Gevorg Safaryan and another participant of the protest, the identity of who has not been defined yet. As Deputy Chief Police Officer Valeri Osipyan explained they were detained as refused to show objects of interest they had with them.
According to ArmInfo's correspondent, currently more than 1000 people are gathered in the Liberty Square. A lot of people have brought warm clothes and food with them following Jirair Sefilyan's call.
It is also known that Armenia's police searched Sefilyan's bag motivating it by checking the existence of objects of interest.
To note, earlier, Zhirayr Sefilyan, the head of the New Armenia campaign headquarters, said that the Front will start termless round-the-clock protest actions in Liberty Square on December 1, at 6 pm. He called for the citizens to come to the square with food and warm clothes. It is also known that the Municipality of Yerevan has failed to take into consideration the New Armenia Front's notification about tenting in Liberty Square.
