Rumors about difficulties in obtaining visas in the French embassy do not correspond to the facts, French Ambassador to Armenia Jean-Francois Charpentier stated at the press conference on June 21.
According to the diplomat possibly there were certain difficulties in obtaining visas before, however currently there no difficulties. The Ambassador informed that only 16.5% of the applications for obtaining short-term visas for a three-month stay were denied. Since 2015 the embassy reduced the visa application processing time. Every fifth application for obtaining long-term visa between 1-4 years is also approved, informed the Ambassador.
The Ambassador stressed that he personally instructed the employees to work more openly, be responsive and polite in the process of issuing long-term visas. At the same time the French Ambassador stated that if all the required documents substantiating visa application are submitted to the consular division the visa will not be denied.
