Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations has not managed to suppress fire in Arevik National Park yet.
The press office of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations informed that as of 1:55pm local time the total area of fire is nearly 200ha including 4ha on the territory of Arevik National Park.
"Wind hinders fighting the fire, measures are being taken to prevent the spread of flame", the statement reads.
To recall, the Ministry received the alarm about the fire near Artashen village on July 13, around 2:43 pm local time. Attempts to put out fire on July 13 failed as the fireplace was in rocky landscape and it was decided to continue the work on July 14 morning. The operations were continued on July 14. At 6:10 am, a fire unit, rescuers, 25 employees of the Arevik Park, 50 servicemen of one of the military units of the Armenian Defense Ministry and 15 local residents arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire.
