A four-year-old child has died from diarrhoeal disease in Armavir, Armenia.
The girl was taken to the Medial Center of Armavir Tuesday, from the local village of Jrashen. According to the website of the Health Ministry of Armenia, the child's health was assessed as moderately severe. Later on the same day, the child's health sharply deteriorated and the doctors were not able to save her life.
Another boy was taken to the mobile reanimation center of "Surb Astvatsamayr" Medical Center with similar symptoms from the village of Norapat. The boy is in grave condition now.
Two brothers attending the same kindergarten in Armavir were also hospitalized with the same symptoms. The condition of the boys is not grave, fortunately.
The health minister of Armenia sent specialists to the Armavir region to get first hand view of the situation. The delegation comprises Deputy Minister Sergey Khachatryan, chief infection diseases specialist of Armenia Ara Asoyan, and emergency physicians. Head of the State Health Inspectorate Artak Sahakyan also left for Armavir. Specialists of the National Center for Control and Prevention of Diseases are working on the spot along with specialists of "Armavir" and "Surb Astvatsamayr" medical centers. The situation is under control.
