South Caucasus Railway CJSC is the 27th on the list of the 1000 largest taxpayers of Armenia in 2014 (up 4 by positions versus 2013).
According to the Tax Service of Armenia, in Jan-Dec 2014 the amount of taxes paid exceeded 4 bln 043,6 mln AMD. SCR keeps conscientiously performing its tax obligations. From 2008 till 2014 the company paid over 25.6 bln AMD in taxes, which is twice as much as the taxes paid by the Armenian Railway over 6 years of activity. So, the SCR is making its own contribution to implementation of governmental programs and promotion of the republic's economic development.
The company's press service has told ArmInfo that the growth in tax revenues is also explained by tangible rise in Armenian railroaders' salaries: at the yearend of 2014, the average monthly salary at SCR was 196.6 thsd AMD versus 74.2 thsd AMD in 2008, when the railway system was transferred to concessionary management. In addition, the company invested over 100,8 bln AMD in development and modernization of the railway service of Armenia.
SCR is a 100% subsidiary of Russian Railway OJSC and the concessional manager of Armenian Railway under 13 Feb 2008 agreement, which was signed for 30 years and may be prolonged for 10 more years.
