US Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick has commented on the incident that took place during the last OSCE monitoring in Nagorno-Karabakh on Jan 14.
"Reported gunfire near @OSCE monitors in Nagorno-#Karabakh is a clear violation of security guarantees from the sides. #NKpeace," Warlick said on Twitter.
This comment has puzzled some Twitter users who wonder which side the gunfire came from.
Following gunfire from the Azerbaijani side, the last OSCE monitoring was stopped. The NKR Defense Army reports that the Nagorno-Karabakh side led the OSCE mission to its front-lines, however, due to a shot from the Azerbaijani side, the Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, found it expedient to halt the monitoring for safety reasons.
