An action of protest was held in front of the OSCE Office in Yerevan on Jan 29. The demonstrators demanded that the OSCE should stop its activities in Armenia.
The initiators handed over a letter to the OSCE Office in Yerevan. The letter says that the OSCE should stop its activities in Armenia because it only disseminates formal statements.
According to the demonstrators, though the ceasefire is breached by Azerbaijan every day and the breach claims human lives, the OSCE engaged in settlement of the Karabakh problem takes no measures except issuing formal statements urging the parties to reduce the tension. The demonstrators are convinced that such behavior of the OSCE only encourages the aggression of Azerbaijan.
To note, a dozen people took part in the action of protest.
To note, the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group (Ambassadors Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, James Warlick of the United States of America, and Pierre Andrieu of France) have issued a statement, which says, "The rise in violence that began last year must stop for confidence to be restored and progress to be made in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. We called on Azerbaijan to observe its commitments to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. We also call on Armenia to take all measures to reduce tensions. All sides must abide by the terms of the ceasefire agreement. Violence undermines efforts to bring about peace".
