Boris Kovalchuk Chairman of Inter RAO UES OJSC Board will visit Armenia shortly.
According to ArmInfo's sources in Moscow, Kovalchuk will have a meeting with President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in Yerevan to discuss restructuring of the debts of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) CJSC to set the company for sale.
The foreign debt of ENA CJSC is $200 million, the internal debt being 16 billion drams. Meanwhile, it is widely rumored in the Armenian press that ENA was bought by Tashir Group owned by Samvel Karapetyan, a big Russian businessman, Armenian by origin.
ENA CJSC is 100% subsidiary of Inter RAO UES OJSC with an exclusive license for transmission and distribution of electric power in the territory of Armenia. The company serves 967,000 consumers.
