In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed against the Head of motor service unit of Armaments Department of the RA Armed Forces, Colonel Davit Abrahamyan according to the Part 3 of the Article 375 of RA Criminal Code for abusing power which caused materially grave consequences, the press-service of the Investigative Committee reports.
Through investigation conducted in the framework of the criminal case sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that Colonel D. Abrahamyan being involved in permanent commission of the same department abused his power out of mercenary motives and organized reception of tools and devices which did not comply with technical characteristics attached to the contract which caused materially grave consequences.
On May 13, 2016 charge was pressed against D. Abrahamyan according to the Part 3 of the Article 375 of RA Criminal Code. The latter pled guilty, gave testimony and fully recovered the damage inflicted to the RA Ministry of Defense. On May 16, 2016 a decision was made by the investigative body to stop D. Abrahamyan's office temporarily. Preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing. Necessary investigation actions are conducted, to verify circumstances indicated in defendant's testimony. At this stage of investigation other information shall not be published.
