On the night of July 25 and early in the morning on July 26, members of the armed group "Daredevils of Sasoun" that has seized the Police Patrol Service Regiment building since July 17 launched offensive actions that pose a real threat to the life and health of people, says the National Security Service of Armenia (NSS) in a statement.
"As the situation has changed dramatically, the NSS of Armenia has to take adequate measures to prevent the criminal actions of the armed group," the NSS says warning that starting July 27 all the attempts of the armed group to leave the seized territory will be prevented by force, except the cases when the members of the group surrender in line with the recommendation of the NSS dating back to July 24. In addition, the NSS says that the use of weapons in the territory of the seized Regiment, including sporadic fire, will be prevented by the law-enforcers by force.
The NSS warns that the attempts to penetrate into the territory will be prevented by force too. The decision to use weapons will be applied depending on the situation. "We urge the armed group to show reason, put down arms and surrender. Otherwise, the armed group will be responsible for further developments," the NSS says in the statement.
