Rostelecom is holding a "Thank You, Internet 2015" contest in Armenia for older generation of internet users. Armenia is the second country after Russia to experience such a contest. The organizers of the contest are Rostelecom OJSC and the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation.
The press service of the company reports that the contest is meant for older generation users (50+) who have learnt how to use a computer and internet on their own or through special computer courses.
To take part in the contest, one should visit the Contest section of www.azbukainterneta.ru, fill in the application form, and upload an essay and 2 photos (one of the photos is to be a WEB camera snapshot). The deadline for submission of essays is October 1, 2015. The award ceremony is scheduled for early November and it will be held during an open lesson. The essays are to cover 2 topics - "Internet - My Friend and Assistant" and "Virtual Communication".
"Nowadays, not only young people but also elderly people are interested in the internet resources. Many of them are active users of social networks, they keep track of news feeds as well. We call on older users to register and take part in the contest. Prizes and surprises are waiting each of them. We are waiting for your stories", said Rostelecom Armenia PR Department Head Siranush Gyurjinyan.
