Artsakh (NKR) President Bako Sahakyan is delivering a speech at Chatham House, Royal Institutive of International Affairs, the NKR Foreign Ministry said in a tweet.
Simultaneously, The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) is holding an action of protest outside the Chatham House against Bako Sahakyan's participation in the event.
It is noteworthy that Chatham House invited NKR President Bako Sahakyan to London for hearings on Nagorny Karabakh, regional security and the relations between various subjects. The visit sparked a protest of Azerbaijan, which has already expressed its discontent to Great Britain. Chatham House, in turn, says the organization of the meeting with the Artsakh president does not mean a support to Nagony Karabakh's stand or its recognition as an independent state.
The British Embassy in Azerbaijan has also made a statement on the issue saying the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office does not recognize Nagorny Karabakh and Bako Sahakyan's visit was private. The Embassy says the UK authorities cannot prevent any private visits.
