ArmInfo. Azerbaijan's attempts to establish control over the corridor connecting Armenia with Artsakh have caused a rather serious situation, according to Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the With Honor parliamentary faction.
The relevant signals from Artsakh and from the Russian peacekeepers are in conflict with those by Azerbaijan.
"One thing is clear one thing is clear: Azerbaijan is doing its best to get at least minimal control over cargo transportation from Armenia to Artsakh and vice versa. And no matter whether it will be done in coordination with Russia in any other way," the MP said.
That step would be a serious blow to the security systems of Armenia and Artsakh and a significant step toward Azerbaijan "devouring" Artsakh.
"And if we add Azerbaijan's 'environmental' - in fact a politically thought-out - step toward 'monitoring' and actually employing mechanisms of control over Artsakh's resources, we get a full picture. With the Armenian government's tacit silence, Azerbaijan is increasing pressure on Artsakh thereby expediting the processes unacceptable to us," Mr Abrahamyan said.
