ArmInfo.Two years after the 44-day war, the two Armenian states are facing crucial challenges and a real threat of war, reads a statement by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARFD).
"As a result of Azerbaijan's military aggression, about 70,000 Armenians lost their property and were forcibly displaced. About 17,000 civilian facilities were destroyed. In the Azerbaijan-occupied territories 1,456 Armenian cultural monuments are being destroyed or their identity is being changed by Azerbaijan. Besides territorial losses, we had irreparable human losses reaching 5,000, with the fate of dozens of Armenian prisoners remains unknown.
"Regrettably, the international remained indifferent throughout the 44-day Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression, which was accompanied with war crimes and use of banned weapons," the statement reads.
72% of Artsakh, including Shushi and Hadrut, are under Azerbaijan's control after the signing of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020.
"Under the circumstances, the Russian peacekeepers are the only guarantors of the Artsakh Armenians' security. The 44-day war was the result of the ruling regime's inability to meet the domestic and foreign challenges ensuing from their treacherous commitment to serve the foreign agenda," the statement reads.
"As never before our people's existence, interest of the Republic of Armenia, our nationhood's future require national unity. We are bowing our heads to the memory of our victims and reaffirm the ARF's commitment to constructing national statehood and serving national interests," the statement reads.
