ArmInfo.Opportunities for teaching Serbian and Armenian languages, giving lectures and opening departments at the universities of Armenia and Serbia were discussed at a meeting in Yerevan by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Artur Martirosyan and Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Armenia Tatjana Panajotovic Cvetkovic.
Referring to bilateral relations, Martirosyan highlighted the issues of cultural heritage, the preservation and restoration of monuments of historical and cultural value, pointed out the historical ties between Armenia and Serbia in this area, the MESCS's press service reports. The Deputy Minister also briefly presented the activities of Armenian Studies Centers in other countries, pointing out the importance of establishing an Armenian Studies Center in Serbia.
The interlocutors discussed a number of general issues related to cooperation in such areas as the translation of fiction books, the training of translators, and the implementation of joint research in the field of linguistics. In this context, the importance of expanding the possibility of providing scholarships to students was emphasized.
The Deputy Minister and the Ambassador also touched upon the potential and importance of a number of ongoing programs such as Erasmus+ and Starmus, while also outlining possible ways of cooperation in the field of sports.
