ArmInfo.Within the framework of the 132nd ministerial session on May 20, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Foreign Ministers of Macedonia and Serbia, Bujar M. Osmani and Nikola Selakovic.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, at the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia, the interlocutors discussed the deepening of bilateral relations and the expansion of effective cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The importance of intensifying political dialogue and mutual visits between the two countries was emphasized.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the active cooperation within the OSCE, expressing the hope that, within the framework of the forthcoming OSCE chairmanship, North Macedonia will make a significant contribution to the establishment of regional security and peace.
In this context, the RA Foreign Minister presented the position of the Armenian side on the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, emphasizing the mediating role of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in achieving a comprehensive and lasting solution to the issue. During the meeting, the humanitarian problems that arose as a result of the 44-day war were also touched upon.
At a meeting with his Serbian counterpart, Mirzoyan noted the positive dynamics in the development of relations and stressed the readiness of the Armenian side to deepen it. The sides exchanged views on international cooperation within the framework of the Council of Europe, as well as issues of regional and international agenda of mutual interest were also discussed.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented Armenia's position on establishing regional peace and stability, as well as a peaceful solution to the Karabakh conflict. Humanitarian problems were also touched upon, in particular, the need to return Armenian prisoners of war and other detainees, to protect the Armenian cultural and religious heritage in the territories that came under the control of Azerbaijan. The head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry presented the process of normalizing relations with Turkey.
