ArmInfo. Russian artist-restorer of monumental painting Nikolai Mikhailov arrived in Armenia at the invitation of head of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, Harutyun Vanyan.
According to the press service of the ministry, during the visit of the honorary restorer to Armenia, an agreement was reached to provide expert assistance to the Ministry in the field of restoration of frescoes.
According to the source, Mikhailov was invited to Armenia to inspect the results of the restoration of the frescoes of the Karmravor church in the Aragatsotn region, which was carried out several years ago, as well as to assess their technical condition and to discuss issues related to their further preservation. The results of the visit will be summarized by the expert opinion of Nikolai Mikhailov.
As part of his visit, Mikhailov in Aragatsotn also visited the bridge, built in 1664, the churches of the Holy Mother of God (VII century), Tsiranavor (V century), Spitakavor (XIII century), the Proshyan house- museum, a bathhouse built in 1900 to get acquainted with cultural monuments, discuss the problems that have arisen and find their possible solutions.
Nikolai Arkadyevich Mikhailov was born in 1960 in Baku. Mikhailov's roots are from Nagorno-Karabakh. Mikhailov graduated from the V. A. Serov Leningrad Art School. His track record includes many restoration works of the palaces of St. Petersburg, in particular the former mansion of S.
