ArmInfo. The Russian Foreign Ministry declared its serious concern over the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and called on the parties to refrain from any actions fraught with further degradation of the situation.
"We are seriously concerned about the recent armed incidents on certain sections of the Azerbaijani- Armenian border, which led to human casualties. We express our condolences to the families of the victims, and we wish the injured a speedy recovery.
Unfortunately, the situation at the border remains tense. We call on the parties to refrain from any actions fraught with further degradation of the situation, to resolve all emerging issues by political and diplomatic means.
Russia is ready to continue to provide all necessary assistance to normalize the situation in the area of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border through de-escalation measures and the earliest start of joint work on delimitation and demarcation of the border. We intend to work actively to turn the Transcaucasia into a zone of stability, security and prosperity in line with the Trilateral statements of the leaders of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation dated November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021," the message reads.
