ArmInfo. The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will soon begin negotiations on the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA). This was announced on Friday, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Iran on economic diplomacy Rasul Mojker.
At the same time, Mojker pointed to the growth of turnover between Iran and the EAEU. "Over the past year, the volume of Russian-Iranian turnover amounted to $ 350 million, of which about 90% accounted for trade in agricultural products," said the diplomat, who quotes Irna.
According to him, due to the temporary agreement leading to the formation of the free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Islamic Republic, the trade turnover of Iran and the member countries of the Union continues to grow.
A temporary agreement leading to the formation of a free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union and its states and Iran was signed in Astana on May 17, 2018, it establishes the main rules for trade between EAEU and Iran, as close as possible to the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The agreement entered into force on October 27, 2019.
