ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan, during a telephone conversation with UN Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lokok, spoke in detail about the humanitarian challenges faced by the Armenians of Artsakh and socio-economic issues. The Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo about this.
According to Ayvazyan, as a result of large-scale military aggression, tens of thousands of Armenians were forced to leave their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh, and now the priority task is to take measures to restore their rights in order to ensure a dignified and safe return to their places of permanent residence. During the conversation, the importance of providing humanitarian aid to Artsakh was emphasized. In this vein, the parties agreed that it is necessary to create appropriate conditions to ensure the presence of international organizations on the ground, including specialized UN structures, considering it unacceptable to politicize the implementation of this humanitarian function and create artificial barriers for this. In this context, they also exchanged views on the possibilities of providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Artsakh.
