ArmInfo. Possible directions of financial assistance from France were discussed at the Armenian Ministry of Health. This became known after the meeting of the Minister of Health of Armenia Anahit Avanesyan with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonothan Lacote and the head of the office of the French Development Agency (AFD) in the South Caucasus Jozan Raphael.
According to the press service of the ministry, Anahit Avanesyan presented the guests with the needs of the Ministry of Health and directions, for the development of which financial assistance is needed. In particular, in this regard, she pointed out the need for rehabilitation work at the National Center for Infectious Diseases and the National Center for Mental Health, the implementation of programs aimed at reducing maternal mortality, modernizing the Blood Service, improving rehabilitation medical care services, etc.
The Minister stressed that in 2019, in order to develop the healthcare sector, many programs were launched, however, in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, some of them remained incomplete. In turn, Ambassador Jonathan Lacote expressed the hope that the countries will be able to effectively cooperate in these areas, and that the work to promote the improvement of the health sector will be continuous.
