ArmInfo.A positive geopolitical outcome of the 44-day war for Armenia was the provision of security for Karabakh through the deployment of Russian peacekeepers. A similar opinion, answering a question from ArmInfo, during the Moscow-Yerevan online conference organized by Sputnik Armenia, was expressed by Doctor of Military Sciences, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences on Information Policy Konstantin Sivkov.
"Any attack, both on Armenia and on Karabakh, will mean Russia's inevitable entry into the war. In this case, the Russian army will destroy the army of Azerbaijan within 3-4 days. In this light, the invasion of Azerbaijan or any other country into Armenia or the territory of Karabakh is completely ruled out. Today we can state the fact that Russia fully ensures the security of both Armenia and Karabakh, "he stressed.
According to Sivkov, Russia, according to the results of the second Karabakh war, also won. In particular, Moscow has sharply increased its role in the region and its influence in both conflicting countries. The collective West, in particular, the rest of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries got out of this situation, having suffered a geopolitical defeat. In his opinion, the United States and France, as a result of the 44-day war, were removed from the settlement process.
"Azerbaijan, on the other hand, won a Pyrrhic victory over Karabakh, capturing, at the cost of heavy losses of personnel, only 7 regions, which it had to receive sooner or later. Thus, Armenia did not suffer a full defeat, and Azerbaijan did not solve the main goal of its war, "Sivkov concluded.
