ArmInfo.The EU is ready to assist the healthcare system in Armenia. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to the Republic of Armenia Andrea Viktorin stated this during a meeting with the RA Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan. According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, during the meeting, the parties discussed upcoming events and work in the near future aimed at curbing the pace of a sharp increase in the spread of coronavirus in Armenia.
In addition, Andrea Viktroin and Arsen Torosyan expressed concern regarding the hostilities in Nagorno- Karabakh, including the need for proper organization of medical aid to those wounded as a result of hostilities. At the same time, the interlocutors attached importance to international cooperation in order to overcome the challenges in the fight against coronavirus and provide medical assistance to victims at the front.
It should be noted that as of 11:00 on October 18, a total of 64,694 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Armenia, of which 48,104 recovered, 1,081 died. At the moment, 15193 citizens are receiving actual treatment. Over the past day alone, 1,694 new cases of COVID-19 infection were detected in Armenia, 179 people recovered, 14 died.
