ArmInfo. High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan held an online meeting with two dozen journalists and representatives of the Armenian media operating in the United States and Canada.
Greeting the meeting participants, Zareh Sinanyan highlighted the work of the Armenian media in the Diaspora, their role in strengthening Armenia-Diaspora cooperation and raising awareness of our compatriots in the Diaspora.
During a two-hour meeting, the High Commissioner introduced the programs of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia to the journalistic community, especially noting the "IGorts" program, the integration package for Lebanese Armenians, the creation of the Center for the Integration of Repatriates, etc.
The participants voiced a wide range of issues: from the problems of the Lebanese Armenians to investments, repatriation and development of Armenia.
At the end of the meeting, the participants and the High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan expressed their hope for regular discussions in this format aimed at strengthening media communications between Armenia and the Diaspora.
The Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs is the main body responsible for the development and implementation of strategies in Armenia-Diaspora relations.
