ArmInfo. Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia (RA NA) from the ruling faction "My Step" Armen Pambukhchyan resigned. This is stated on the website of the RA Parliament.
"In accordance with part 2 of Article 155 of the Constitutional Law "Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly ", if a lawmaker withdraws his application in writing within one week after the publication of his resignation, the Speaker of the National Assembly makes a corresponding statement. Otherwise, a protocol shall be drawn up on the suspension of his powers, which shall be signed by the President of the National Assembly. From the moment of publication of the protocol, the application for resignation is considered accepted, "the statement of the RA NA Speaker reads.
To recall, Armen Pambukhchyan on December 9, 2018 was elected to the National Assembly from the nationwide electoral list of the bloc of parties "My Step".
It should be noted that Pambukhchyan published the decision to resign his parliamentary powers on his Facebook page. At the same time, he noted that with the consent of the political team and at his own request, he would continue his civil service, but already in the executive body.
The MP expressed gratitude for the effective joint work to all the counterparts of the National Assembly of 7th convocation. "Naturally, I express special gratitude to the "My Step" faction for meaningful discussions and decisions made aimed at achieving common goals. I assure that the faction has been and will continue to be the bearer of the values of the revolution, a strong institution serving the interests of the citizens of the RA and our statehood," he wrote. It should be noted that a meeting is currently being held at the central office of the ruling Civil Contract party, headed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, with the participation of the RA NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan, lawmakers of the My Step party, ministers and governors. It may also be about the unsuccessful, in the opinion of Pashinyan's associates, change of three members of the Constitutional Court. None of them were supporters of "New Armenia".
