ArmInfo. Former MP Levon Sargsyan, known by the nickname "Alraghatsi Lyov", has been arrested, the General Prosecutor's Office confirms this information.
As the NSS previously reported, Sargsyan ordered the robbery on the house of the former head of the Armenian Customs Committee Armen Avetisyan, committed in October 2008. According to the results of searches carried out in 2018 in the mansion and apartment of Sargsyan, weapons and ammunition were found. Since October 1, 2018, he has been wanted in connection with charges under paragraphs 1-2 of Part 3 of Article 175 of the RA Criminal Code and Part 2 of Article 223 of the RA Criminal Code. Sargsyan was found and detained on November 21 last year in Zelenograd (Moscow region, Russia), and on August 6 this year, he was extradited to Armenia.
To note, Levon Sargsyan was a member of the Armenian parliament in 1999-2007.
