ArmInfo. On the instructions of the Prosecutor General, the relevant publications in the media regarding the lawfulness of the nomination in previous years of the former head of the FFA, Ruben Hayrapetyan, who is a citizen of another country, for the post of RA NA member, were sent to the Investigative Committee. Prosecutor's advisor Gor Abrahamyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.
As Abrahamyan noted, the decision was made so that the above circumstance becomes a subject of discussion within the framework of the criminal case being investigated against Hayrapetyan. "The prosecutor's office will be consistent in providing an appropriate legal assessment based on the results obtained by the investigation," he stressed.
To note, earlier, a number of media outlets, with reference to the prosecutor's office, reported that Ruben Hayrapetyan has been a citizen of Russia since 2003. Meanwhile, from 2003 to 2012, he was a lawmakerof the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, and even headed the standing committee on financial, budgetary and economic affairs.
Ruben Hayrapetyan and his son Rafik Hayrapetyan are accused of arbitrariness, deliberate and illegal deprivation of a person's freedom; on this fact a criminal case was initiated. According to the IC, the injured party is G.Sh, the former executive director of the Harsnakar restaurant complex located near Sevan. This complex belongs to the Hayrapetyan family. In the course of the investigation it turned out that G. Sh. in August 2015, took a loan from the bank in 52 million drams, part of which he directed to the restaurant itself, and 30 million drams, without the knowledge of the owners of the restaurant, used to open his own taxi service. Upon learning of this, Hayrapetyan father and son with a group of people illegally deprived him of his freedom in one of the cottages near Yerevan, where he was periodically subjected to physical violence. Further, under pressure, G. Sh. and his relatives and friends were deprived of cars, jewelry as a payment of the debt, in parts - about $ 40 thousand. In addition, in October 2016, the Hayrapetyans took over the apartment of G.Sh.
The second criminal case against Hayrapetyan was initiated on the fact that in 2014 Ruben Hayrapetyan, on behalf of the FFA, gave up land worth 800 million drams in favor of the Yerevan Municipality. After that, with the help of the then Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan and other officials of the capital's municipality, a fictitious auction was held in 2015, as a result of which the land was purchased in parts for only 169 million drams by persons with connections with the head of the FFA. This was followed by the signing of a number of documents on the transfer of land as a gift, in the end, it was registered to the members of the Hayrapetyan family and his relatives.
Hayrapetyan is on the territory of Russia, where, according to the defense, he left for treatment, and cannot return due to the situation with the coronavirus. Earlier, the Russian side stopped the search against him on its territory, however, the written justification from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has not yet been received by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia.
