ArmInfo. Former CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov's defense submitted a petition to present the case materials to the latter in a language that he understands due to his poor knowledge of the written Armenian language.
As lawyer Mihran Poghosyan noted, due to the language barrier, his client is actually deprived of the opportunity to voice his position on the issues raised during the proceedings, which in fact is a violation of his rights. Given the large volume of the case, the lawyer asked, if the application was denied, to translate at least the grounds of Khachaturov's accusation.
To note, former head of the General Staff and and former CSTO secretary general Yuri Khachaturov is involved in the case of second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, who is accused of overthrowing the constitutional order in the framework of the March 1, 2008 events.
