ArmInfo. Viktor Biyagov, Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the Collective Security Treaty Organization at a meeting of the Organization's Permanent Council, spoke in detail about the aggravation of the situation in the north- east direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border that arose as a result of the Azerbaijani aggression since July 12, the targeted shelling of civilian infrastructure and civilians by Azerbaijan.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the Permanent Representative of Armenia to the CSTO noted that the civilian infrastructure of the Armenian settlements of Chinari and Aygepar was fired at by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, resulting in damage to civilian facilities. "According to the latest information, civilian infrastructure of the city of Berd has been fired upon by unmanned aerial vehicles in recent hours. Recently, the Azerbaijani side, despite the calls of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to refrain from provocative actions, hostile rhetoric and strengthen the ceasefire, contrary to the call of the UN Secretary General for a global ceasefire, supported by the CSTO member states, continues to voice threats of the use of force and military escalation. The entire responsibility for the escalation of the situation in the CSTO responsibility zone lies with the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan, "he stressed. In the context of issues related to the need to maintain regional security and stability, Biyagov drew the attention of representatives of the CSTO member countries to a statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, noting that Armenia strongly condemns Turkey's attempts to provoke instability in our region. "The current situation is an object of serious concern and attention for the entire Organization and each of its members, since there is an attempt to direct aggression against one of its members in the area of responsibility of the Organization. We urge our allies to demonstrate solidarity and mutual support in accordance with the spirit and letter of the Charter of the Organization. This unprecedented situation is becoming an important test for each of us and for the Organization as a whole, "the Armenian Permanent Representative emphasized. The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Armenia will continue to work within the framework of the CSTO on the current situation.
