ArmInfo. The lack of coordinated work in the system of the state apparatus is one of the reasons for the failure of Armenia in the fight against COVID-19. The second president of Armenia Robert Kocharian stated this during a meeting with his supporters online. According to him, the state's indicators for the incidence of coronavirus are simply shameful, the reason for which are inadequate current situation of the authorities.
The government, he said, focused on primitive decisions - wearing masks became the only way to combat the pandemic, and the cornerstones of all economic policy were cashier's checks apparatuses. Meanwhile, Robert Kocharian believes that the future of Armenia - in an organized state. It is this organization, the second president of Armenia notes, that is the driving force in creating a strong state. The economic successes during his presidency by 70% -80% were due to the coordinated work of the state apparatus, and this co-ordination is practically nonexistent today. "Sometimes it seems that it is state institutions that prevent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from working," said Robert Kocharian, considering the situation absurd.
Kocharian himself cannot influence the decision-making process, however, he expects that with the help of criticism, pointing out mistakes and shortcomings, he will be able to alleviate people's problems a little. "This is a very small opportunity, especially in conditions of such a government that is not ready to listen to anyone with opposition views," the ex-president added. He promised to present a clear strategy only after he forms his team as a political entity.
Recall, the former president is accused of overthrowing the constitutional order during the post-election events of 2008. Since July 2018, with short breaks, he was under arrest. In June 2020, the Court of Appeal issued him on bail of $ 4 million.
