ArmInfo. The trial in the case of former President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and others was postponed until July 14.
According to Judge Anna Danibekyan, since the working day has come to an end, the discussion of the petitions of the parties will continue at the next meeting, which will be held on July 14 at 1:00p.m.
During the July 7 meeting, the defense criticized and protested the consideration of the prosecution's petition - to acknowledge the defense's actions (in particular, numerous petitions) as deliberately delaying the process and abuse of the rules of procedure, and proceed to voice the final part of the indictment.
The prosecution, in turn, stated that even while objecting, the defense did not miss the opportunity to delay the meeting with statements that were not directly related to the case. After many hours of discussion and bickering, Judge Danibekyan decided that the right to submit petitions by the defense could not be limited and rejected the petition of the prosecution.
To recall, the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan is accused of overthrowing the constitutional order. In the case of the March 1, 2008 events, the former chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Yuri Khachaturov, the former head of the Ministry of Defense Seyran Ohanyan and the former head of the presidential administration Armen Gevorgyan are also involved.
