ArmInfo.Production of the "Bioxil-2" disinfectant for the fight against COVID-19 has been launched in Armenia. The National Academy of Sciences of Armenia reports.
Composite, effective, chlorine-free disinfectant <Bioxil-2> and its production technology were developed at the Institute of Chemical Physics named after Nalbandyan based on active oxygen. The disinfectant can be used for disinfection of rooms, surfaces and objects, it is safe from an environmental point of view, non-toxic, and does not negatively affect human health.
<Bioxil-2> underwent relevant tests of bactericidal properties at Disinfection Center CJSC of the RA Ministry of Health and the National Center for Tuberculosis Control, as well as at enterprises producing various types of food products. In the emergency situation in the republic, the Institute of Chemical Physics produced 1 ton of disinfectants at its own expense and donated them to the Ministry of Emergencies for targeted use.
Production of "Bioxil 2" is organized at a plant with a capacity of 2 tons per day, located on the territory of the Institute of Chemical Physics. At present, the main customer of <Bioxil 2> products is the Presidium of the NAS RA: the building of the Presidium and all research institutes of the NAS RA is disinfected with Bioxil 2 twice a week.
