ArmInfo. The deputy from the My Step faction Viktor Yengibaryan urged to deal with the mafia branch in the Syunik region of Armenia, where, recall, the fact of  kidnapping and beating of a person was revealed.

As the deputy from the parliamentary tribune on May 26 noted, some  political, but in reality mafia forces are trying with great  enthusiasm to avoid responsibility and implement their many-year  robbery policy.  Evidence of this is the above-mentioned events in  Syunik. "We have repeatedly noted that the state has not come to  close our eyes to such actions, especially in the area where the  criminal-oligarchic system reigned for many years, led by the former  governor and other persons with nicknames," he noted. According to  him, the state should introduce more stringent methods, and call to  account this, as the deputy put it, a branch of the mafia structure.  "The police, the National Security Service and the Prosecutor's  Office should do serious work in Syunik," Yengibaryan emphasized,  pointing out also the negative role of the paid media.  Recall that  on May 24, a protest rally was held in front of the Kapan police  station building after police detained four people from the  environment of Mayor Kajaran Manvel Farmazyan. According to the  Investigative Committee, in April there was a fact of the abduction  of citizen Sh.M. from the ZMMK parking lot, followed by beating by a  number of persons. During a search in the house of one of the  participants in the incident, A.P. drug was discovered <marijuana> in  particularly large quantities. May 24 citizens Kh.M., M.S. and L.A.  were detained on suspicion of crimes under Clause 1 of Part 2 of  Article 131 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and A.P  - Part 3 of Article 268 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of  Armenia.

Large-scale investigative actions and operational activities to  verify the mayor's participation in these incidents and to clarify  his role.

The preliminary investigation continues. The mayor of Kajaran himself  suspects his involvement in the high-profile incident, stating that  in this case there is political persecution.
