ArmInfo.The European Union will provide Armenia with 92 million euros to fight the new type of coronavirus.
As ArmInfo was informed in the press service of the EU delegation in Armenia, the funds will be directed to the implementation of projects to satisfy both short-term and long-term needs.
"The funds will be used to supply medical equipment and supplies, retrain medical staff and laboratory staff, assist small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the business community, social and humanitarian assistance for victims of a coronavirus outbreak. The EU's response follows the logic of the Team Europe approach It is aimed at attracting investments from all EU institutions and replenishing them with resources mobilized by EU member states, financial institutions, in particular, European investment resources bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) ", - summed up in the EU.
It should be noted that earlier in the European Commission they announced their intention to allocate 500 million euros to the countries of the Eastern Partnership to fight against coronavirus. Neighboring Georgia under this project will be provided 183 million euros.
