ArmInfo.On April 3, the Armenian government decided to amend the decision "On declaring a state of emergency", according to which foreigners are not allowed to enter the RA through border crossings regardless of the place of arrival.
According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the changes were made based on the fact that the geographical distribution of coronavirus infection is no longer limited to countries with a tense epidemiological situation and includes almost all countries of the world (territory). "According to the above decision, all persons who are not citizens of the Republic of Armenia or a member of the family of a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, as well as those who do not have the right to lawfully reside in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, are prohibited from entering the country through border crossing points during the entire state of emergency.
The exception is diplomatic representatives of foreign states, representatives of consular offices and international organizations and members of their families, as well as persons who have the right to enter by decision of the commandant or who have received permission in special cases, "the Foreign Ministry informed.
The ministry also stated that after entering the territory of the Republic of Armenia, persons are subjected to an immediate special examination in order to identify symptoms of infection. After passing the appropriate examination at the checkpoint, all persons are subject to mandatory self-isolation if, in relation to the latter, due to the presence of symptoms, hospitalization and (or) other restrictive measures are not applied. In case of refusal of persons to undergo a medical examination, hospitalization, self-isolation and (or) other restrictive measures after entering through the checkpoint into the territory of the Republic of Armenia, the right to free movement within a certain territory (place) for the purpose of examination, treatment and prevention of spread may be limited infections.
