ArmInfo. The State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia initiated a series of online workshops conducted by famous musicians and professors.
The first lesson of this series took place on April 3, and was taught by Igor Petrushsky, professor at the London Royal Academy of Music, who is considered one of the best violin teachers in Europe. Students of Igor Petrushevsky are laureates of various international competitions, performers of the best orchestras, famous soloists. The famous musician conducted a lesson with the violinist of the symphony orchestra Eva Markosyan, about 70 musicians followed the lesson. The State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia provided an opportunity not only to members of the orchestra, but also to students of music schools, the conservatory and all musicians who wish to participate in the lesson. During the master class, the violinist presented Bach's second play.
Sergey Smbatyan, artistic director and chief conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia, noted that online workshops are part of the orchestra's educational mission. They will become continuous and will enable Armenian musicians to get acquainted with world famous artists, with their professional skills and nuances of performance. According to the maestro, the cessation of concert activity due to the spread of the coronavirus should be focused and effective, and this initiative is aimed at achieving this goal.
