Armenia ranked 78th in World Press Freedom Index 2014 of Reporters Without Borders

Reporters Without Borders has published the World Press Freedom Index 2014. The website of the organization says that Armenia is ranked 78th (-4). Azerbaijan is ranked 160th (-3), and the organization says that Russia's repressive legislation and communications surveillance methods are happily copied in Azerbaijan. Georgia is ranked 84th, Turkey - 154th, and Iran - 173rd.

The Emergency Situations Ministry of Armenia was alarmed late in the evening on Sunday that the River of Hrazdan overran its banks flooding the adjacent settlements. Rescuers arrived on the spot immediately. It turned out that several houses in the village of Jrarat were partially flooded as 6 cu m/sec water releases were launched at 6:00pm on 27 September and 8 cu m/sec - at 3:00pm on the next day.
