The developments in the domestic political life of Armenia by no means comply with the geopolitical processes in the world, Ashot Manucharyan, member of the Karabakh Committee, ex-advisor to the first president of Armenia for national security, said at a press conference in Yerevan, Friday.
"Armenia has got tired and is having a rest. It is not concerned over possible explosion in Georgia, which is dangerous for our country, because the communication will be blocked again. Over the past few years Georgia has been trying to start a confrontation with Russia. This endangers Armenia", he said.
Manucharyan is convinced that Armenia is still being controlled by foreign forces. He also thinks that to overcome the current situation, Armenian people should join efforts and make the authorities take the citizens' interests into account.
When commenting on the incident with the Mi-24 helicopter of the NKR Armed Forces, the expert said that the Azeri side shot down the helicopter accidentally and the helicopter found itself in the immediate vicinity of the Line of Contact also accidentally.
"Azerbaijan's actions have no logic, i.e. that step was not planned", he said. But the expert thinks that Russia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs must interfere in the situation to prevent escalation.
