Inter RAO does not comment on the reports on possible sale of its 100% stake in the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) CJSC to LIORMAND HOLDINGS LIMITED, Nikolay Gorelov, a representative of Inter RAO OJSC press-office told ArmInfo. The company's representative did not say if ENA will be sold to a group of international investors, including Samvel Karapetyan - a Russian-Armenian businessman.
Meantime, according to ArmInfo's data, a group of international investors has offered Inter RAO to sell ENA. The Russian company has accepted the offer. If the Armenian Government approves the deal, the parties will sign a contract.
Talking to reporters earlier today, on Sept 17, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan said the agreement on sale of the shares will be studied and a resolution on it will be issued within a week. He said the debt liabilities of Inter RAO will be transferred to possible buyer - Liormand Holdings Limited. He assured that after sale of Inter RAO's 100% stake in ENA and a change of the owner, the electricity price will not be changed, as the Public Services Regulatory Commission had already issued a decision on it. The audit of ENA will not be cancelled either.
To recall, Russian INTER RAO HOLDING B.V. , the holder of the 100% shares of ENA CJSC informed the Government of Armenia of its intention to sell 100% stake in Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC to LIORMAND HOLDINGS LIMITED. The Government approved the given decision today.
The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economy are charged to demand the necessary documents from Liormand Holdings Limited, to study its suitability to the principles of the preliminary qualification and participation in the contest on privatization of companies distributing the electricity of the energy system of Armenia, as well as to hold negotiations and draft a contract under which the company will assume the responsibilities of a buyer. In addition, the ministries are charged to study the deal and submit a relevant resolution to the Government.
