U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Jane Nuland's statements about the Karabakh conflict and her call to release the Azeri raiders as a humanitarian gesture was voiced in the wrong place, political expert Alexander Markarov has told ArmInfo's correspondent.
This is why he says official Yerevan has left Nuland's call without response. He thinks that Victoria Nuland should have applied to Stepanakert on this matter.
He stresses that in case the Azeri raiders return to Baku, Azerbaijan's next step will be to glorify them.
To note, during her visit to Armenia on Feb 18, Nuland urged Armenia to release the Azeri raiders as a humanitarian gesture. The raiders committed a number of crimes in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, including a brutal murder of an Armenian minor.
