By Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's decree Head of Armament Unit of Armenia's Armed Forces Melsik Chilingaryan has been dismissed, the press-service of the president informs.
To recall, on April 26, Head of the Logistics Department Alik Mirzabekyan, Head of the Intelligence Department of the General Staff Arshak Karapetyan and Head of the Communications and Automated Management Systems Department Komitas Muradyan were dismissed by the Armenian President's decree.
Earlier Koryun Nahapetyan, Head of the Armenian Standing Parliamentary Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs, stated that there may be further dismissals in the Defense Ministry and General Staff of Armenia's Armed Forces. According to him investigation is underway in the defense ministry and general staff of the armed forces, as a result of which other officials may be brought to responsibility. Head of Republican Party Faction Vahram Baghdasaryan also stated that dismissals of a number of high-ranking officials are caused by omissions revealed during the April war.
