Azerbaijan keeps receiving the military equipment it has bought from Russia. Referring to governmental sources, haqqin.az reports that the ongoing arms supplies are based on the arrangements of the military-technical cooperation between Baku and Moscow.
In particular, Azerbaijan is being supplied with Vena 120mm self-propelled mortar cannons mounted on the chassis of a BMP-3 and BTR-82A, an upgraded version of the BTR-80A wheeled armored vehicles.
Meantime, the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan reported on Tuesday that missile and artilerry troops launched drills under the plan approved by Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov.
According to the source, the troops are practicing the Russian-made Msta-S self-propelled 152 mm howitzers recently supplied to the Azerbaijani army. The exercises are held in a gaunt landscape under simulated battlefield conditions. The arthillery systems were put on alert. The troops are working out the practical application of the cannons with other types of troops.
They are fulfilling tasks to detect conditional targets by means of drones to destroy them.
