Ganja Court of Appeal has held a preliminary hearing on the appeal against the judgment of the Ganja Court on Grave Crimes on the case of Arsen Bagdasaryan, an Armenian scout who had been captured by Azerbaijani soldiers while attempting to cross the Aghdam part of the contact line of troops on December 26, 2014.
APA's western bureau reports that at the hearing presided over by judge Teyyub Mukhtarov, Bagdasaryan said that he is Azerbaijani citizen and regret his act: "I ask the Court to reduce my sentence as I am an Azerbaijani citizen." The hearing was scheduled for July 15.
Azerbaijani Court sentenced Armenian POW Arsen Baghdasaryan to 15 years in tight institution. The former contract serviceman of the NKR Defense Army Arsen Baghdasaryan has been in Azeri captivity since Dec 26, 2014. The NKR Defense Ministry says that his behavior was far from being disciplined. When trying to escape court, Baghdasaryan crossed the line of contact into Azerbaijan. He was charged under Articles 29,120.2.7, 29,120.2.12 and 29,282.2 of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
