The Military Prosecutor's Office of Armenia is investigating the information about the sale of tinned food in Poland, while the products were meant for the Armenian Armed Forces, Armenia's Ambassador to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan says on his Facebook page.
"By the instruction of the Deputy Prosecutor General of Armenia, Lt.-Gen of Justice Alexander Harutyunyan, the information about the sale of the tinned food in Poland is being investigated. Following the discussions among the Military Prosecutor's Office of Armenia, the Defense Ministry and the Armenian Ambassador to Poland, the Armenian diplomat sent an official letter to the Prosecutor's Office to check the reliability of the information about the sale of the tinned food meant for the Armenian Armed Forces. The tinned food was being sold at one of the stores in Poland, as well as to reveal the sources of acquisition of these products and to launch legal proceedings if needed," the Ambassador says.
To note, earlier lawyer Garik Galikyan said on his Facebook page that the food and military uniform produced for the Armenian soldiers were being sold in Poland.
"My 8-year-old child is saving money to buy products and to send them to soldiers. There are people in our country who spend their last money on products for soldiers, however, it then turns out that the clothes and the tinned food meant for the Armenian servicemen are being sold in one of the stores in a Polish town," Galikyan says, noting that the products with Armenian labels are being sold for 160 USD. "My friend has seen it with his own eyes. Even the seller asked my friend to translate the Armenian labels. I request the competent structures to check this information," he said.
