Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia confirms the information that five of six crewmembers of the plane crashed in South Sudan were Armenians. The Ministry verified the information in the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to the information spread in the Armenian mass media, the crashed cargo plane An-12 belongs to an Armenian businessman.
To note, the crashed An-12 belonged to Allied Services Limited, a logistics company based in South Sudan. According to the existing information, Allied Services Limited owns two tail numbers EY-406 and EY-409. Rescuers are working at the place of the crash at the moment. According to preliminary data, at least 40 people had been killed. Besides, local mass media informs that the plane crashed on the farms and the number of the victims may be more.
