The inspections at the enterprises of businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, the former leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, are still going on, Armenian Finance Minister Gagik Khachatryan, told media on May 25.
The minister said that the tax bodies presented grounded data regardless of the fact whether the enterprises belong to a politician or a state official.
To recall, at the latest session of the Armenian Parliament, Nikol Pashinyan, MP from the Armenian National Congress faction, wondered if the Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan was fulfilling the 12 Feb 2015 instructions of the Armenian President. The Prime Minister, in turn, pointed out that the President's instructions concerned all the businessmen who failed to show their tax liabilities. Abrahamyan instructed the Finance Minister to inspect Tsarukyan's enterprises.
To recall, in Feb 2015 Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stressed the need to check the rumors about Tsarukyan's tax evasion. Tsarukyan was excluded from the National Security Council of Armenia.
