Despite the ceasefire arrangements of April, the Azerbaijani forces continued offensive actions on the Line of Contact of the Karabakh- Azerbaijani troops on April 23 throughout the day and on the night to April 24. The Azerbaijani forces used weapons of various calibers, as well as 60mm mortars (16 shells), 82mm mortar (99 shells), howitzers D-30 122mm (19 shells), and Turkish-made TR-107 rocket launcher systems (25 shells) against Martakert in the northeast of Line of Contact and Talish in the north. "It is noteworthy that the adversary targeted not only the combat positions, but also the populated areas of Martakert district. A shell of howitzer D-30 hit one of the villages. Fortunately, no casualties are reported. The NKR Defense Army units had to retaliate to stabilize the situation and repel the attack," the NKR Defense Army says in a statement. At the same time, NKR Defense Army emphasizes that such offensive actions by the Azerbaijani side once again prove that it continues violating the ceasefire arrangements of April 5 2016 and deliberately escalates the situation on the frontline.
