Armenian National Assembly has unanimously adopted a statement on the centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
All 113 present deputies voted in favour of the document. The statement reads: "Taking as a basis the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in December 1948, the convention "On the Condemnation of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915", adopted by the Supreme Council of the Armenian SSR on November 22 1988, the Armenian National Assembly is urging parliaments and interparliamentary organizations all over the world to recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide as the gravest crime against humanity".
